Welcome to the Pant-y-Gwydr
Based in the heart of Swansea, the Pant-y-Gwydr serves French cuisine prepared using both traditional and original recipes, with an emphasis on the sauces on which much French cooking is based.
The menu contains ever-present classics (French fish soup, frogs legs, foie gras, tournedos Rossini, monkfish casserole) and frequently-changing seasonal specials that include Welsh or Gower lamb wherever possible. We set great store by the authenticity of our produce: snails from Burgundy, organic olive oil from Provence, organic baker’s flour milled in Wales…
Since parts of the menu may change on a daily basis depending on the availability of fresh produce, any advance copies of menus will be provided by way of indication and do not guarantee the dishes that will be served on a given day.
Much of the menu will be prepared à la minute and most dishes are wheat-free. Care has been taken to provide a choice of desserts that are suitable for vegetarians. We offer a vegetarian main course but please provide us with 24 hours’ notice if you require a vegan main course.
Food allergies and intolerances - please speak to our staff about the ingredients in your meal when making your order.
Full details of our opening times can be found on our Opening Times page.
We accept bookings for parties of up to eight customers on Saturday evenings. We accept larger parties from Tuesday to Friday by prior arrangement.
If you are dining with a party of more than four people, please make sure that one person can pay the bill at the end of the meal – we cannot take individual payments for your menu choices.
If desired, drinks may be ordered separately and paid for at the bar.
We kindly request that guests do not bring birthday cakes to the restaurant since it is difficult for us to serve them at busy times. Please let us know if you wish us to serve a dessert with a candle.
You are welcome to bring balloons and other birthday decorations but please avoid glitter table decorations as these stain our wooden tables.
